 Heritage breeds are breeds that have been around and have been unchanged for a very long time. They are also known for being very hardy breeds. These Barred Rocks are no exception. They handle our N. Texas climate like champs! When my other breeds are struggling with the heat and humidity, these girls are acting like it's any other day. Between their hardiness, egg laying abilities, and size, these birds make great dual purpose birds for even the beginner chicken keeper.
